The Okinawa Zoo located near Kadena Gate #2 is a great place to take the students to enjoy a fun filled day visiting with a variety of animals and enjoying rides. The students began the day by riding a carousel and a train. The students began their journey by walking pass an enormous cage of sleeping bats. The students got the chance to take a leisure walk through the zoo and take in the chimpanzees, hippopotamus, lions and tigers in their natural habitat.  As the students continued on the walking loop they walked passed horses, various birds and some very tall giraffes feasting on vegetations. Upon the completion of the zoo portion of the field trip the students went inside to visit the Okinawa Wonder Museum.  The students had fun as they went from one exhibit to the next.  Some of the fun activities the students participated in was sitting in a large red chair and pretending that they were visiting the house of a giant.  The students also got the chance to visit the scientific and sports exhibits.  The students got the chance to view a skeleton exhibit and discuss how their bodies look on the inside. The students also got the chance to test their speed as they took turns racing and competing with each other in the sports exhibit.  Both the Okinawa Zoo and Museum were a fun ways to for the students explore both nature and scientific environments.
